Working at the Charité

We are offering a PhD-position for a research assistant in the DFG-funded project "The Role of Cldn10a in Kidney Injury Susceptibility".

Job Overview

  • Planning, organisation and execution of experiments to answer the question of the DFG research project
  • Methods include cell culture, molecular and immunohistochemical methods, confocal microscopy, electrophysiological techniques
  • Independent evaluation and documentation of the results
  • Writing of scientific publications
  • Participation in scientific events and presentation of results at congresses
  • Scientific staff is given time for their own academic qualification in accordance with § 110 BerlHG

Required:

  • Very good university degree (equivalent diploma/master or engineer) in biology, biophysics, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related subject
  • Strong scientific motivation and background in physiology and bench lab experience and a special interest in functional and pathophysiological-translational
    issues
  • Very good communication and writing skills in English
  • Personal initiative, skills in teamwork, organization, and logistics

Job Information

  • Salary group E13 according to TVöD- VKA- K. The classification is based on qualification, the respective experience level is calculated from the years of professional experience. The annual salary (gross) is given for a full-time position without annual bonus, allowances and additional services. You can find the collective agreement here
  • The working time is part-time with 25 hours per week
    At our company 30 days of vacation are standard
    The position is limited to 3 years, as it is tied to the project duration
