We are seeking a highly motivated researcher (PhD) with a strong background in translational cancer research to join our team. The position is integrated into the scientific group of Prof. Ulrich Keller (Director of the Department of Hematology, Oncology and Tumor Immunology). Our Department has a strong publication track record, e.g., J Clin Invest, Nat Comm, EMBO Mol Med, PNAS, Blood, Cancer Cell and is funded by the DFG, Deutsche Krebshilfe, BMBF, BIH, and others. We engage in numerous national/international collaborations and consortia. In addition to our own laboratorys at Charité, we have privileged access to Max-Delbrück Center facilities.

Job Overview
- Planning, execution and evaluation of translational projects in cancer research
- Focus areas include: tumor pathogenesis, molecular diagnostics, biomarker-informed therapeutic intervention, cellular immunotherapies
- Application of cutting-edge technologies (e.g. single cell-omics, spatial transcriptomics, advanced proteomics and genomics, innovative genetic and pharmacological screening, liquid biospy technologies, applied bioinformatics and data integration)
- Development of novel high impact methods and technologies
- Preparation of scientific publications, participation/presentation of research results at national/international congresses
- Coordination of collaboration with partners (internal/external)
- Supervision of PhD and MD students, technicians
- Application for external fundingAll scientific staff members will be given sufficient time for their own scientific work in accordance with their employment contract
What we are looking for
Preferred:
- Completed degree in natural sciences (M.Sc.) or comparable
- Experimental PhD and previous experience in translational cancer research, strong publication record from PhD or postdoc
- Confident handling of statistical analyses and evaluation programs
- Experience in data analysis and presentation, including knowledge of statistics
- Good analytical skills for complex problems
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
- High degree of self-motivation, ability to work in a team and sense of responsibility
- Very good organizational and communication skills, English is laboratory language
