Working at Charité

Our research group is interested in deciphering the genomic code of hematologic and solid neoplasms. Our focus is on investigating tumor heterogeneity and clonal evolution, premalignant events, and response to therapy. To this end, we use various techniques such as high-throughput sequencing and single-cell analysis.

Overview of the position

We are seeking a motivated reasearch-oriented physician (M.D./Ph.D.) in part-time (20%) to support the project starting October 1, 2026, with a focus on translational lymphoma research. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based multi-omics analysis of primary lymphoma material
  • Study logistics (primary tissue and clinical data organization), including enrolling patients 
  • Complex bioinformatic and statistical analysis methods

What we are looking for

  • A completed medical degree (and, if applicable, a medical license) and a doctoral degree (Ph.D./M.D.) or an equivalent degree in medicine

  • Advanced knowledge of R, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent

  • Extensive knowledge of statistical methods

  • Extensive research experience in the field of clinical/translational research, NGS, and cancer

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (the language of the lab and institute is English); knowledge of German is desirable

Information regarding the position

  • Paygrade Ä1 according to TVöD VKA-K / E13 TVöD-VKA. Your job grade depends on your job qualification whereas the experience level depends on the number of working years. The yearly gross salary is hereby provided based on a full time position excluding yearly bonus and additional pay. You may find further information here
  • Working hours is part-time with 20%.
  • The position is limited until 30.06.2027, as it is tied to the project duration
