Working at Charité

The Ralser Lab at the Department of Biochemistry and the Charité Berlin (https://ralser.group/) is recruiting a PhD student to join a cutting-edge research project in proteomics, with a focus on microbial cells and systems biology. The focus is on the development of new proteomic methods, to discover the function of unknown microbial genes.

What You Will Do

  • Study the proteome of microbial cells, using mass spectrometry
  • Analyze how microbial interactions affect growth, competition, and resistance
  • Work in a collaborative, international, and interdisciplinary research environment
  • Contribute to publications and present findings at scientific meetings

What we are looking for

What We’re Looking For

  • MSc (or equivalent) in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field
  • Experience with microbiology, yeast biology, and/or proteomics;
  • Strong motivation and interest in host-microbe interactions and systems biology
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Information regarding the position

  • Paygrade XXX according to TVöD VKA-K. Your job grade depends on your job qualification whereas the experience level depends on the number of working years. The yearly gross salary is hereby provided based on a full time position excluding yearly bonus and additional pay. You may find further information here
  • Working hours can be part-time from XX or full-time with up to 38.5 hours per week. Please indicate how many hours you would like to work per week
