The Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) is dedicated to biomedical translation. For the research group "Computational Neurology" starting from the earliest possible date limited for 3 years we are looking for 3 Doctoral Students (d/f/m) in part-time (25,03h/week).
The research group "Computational Neurology" develops machine/deep learning methods along with theory-driven approaches from physics to better monitor, predict and prevent health deteriorations in epilepsy, intensive care and other neurological settings. Our approach utilizes multimodal data over the health-disease continuum, including wearables, in-hospital neuromonitoring, video and EEG. We are also studying the foundations of optimal information processing in biological and artificial intelligence neural networks. We are a highly interdisciplinary group where medical doctors/neurologists work closely together with natural scientists including physicists/data scientists.

What you can expect
- Analysis of multimodal time-series data, including data from wearables and EEG
- Develepment of predictive models for machine learning and deep learning
- Numerical simulations and modeling
- Research with clinical partners as part of a highly interdisciplinary team
- Research on parallels in optimal functioning between biological and artificial neural networks (NeuroAl)
What you bring along
- Completed scientific university degree (Master, Diploma or comparable) in Physics, IT, Data Science or a related discipline
- Programming skills (Python/Matlab, C++)
- Communication skills
- Very good English and German language skills
- Interest in working in an interdisciplinary, translational clinical environment
