The Einstein Center for Early Disease Interception (EC-EDI), funded by the Einstein Foundation Berlin, is a new inter-institutional center dedicated to early disease detection and prevention. It brings together 12 leading Berlin-based research institutions, thereby enhancing Berlin’s profile as a center of research.
The advertised position in project management with a focus on communication and outreach is based in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine under the direction of Prof. Leif Erik Sander.

Overview of the position
- Planning, implementing, and coordinating the EC-EDI’s communication and outreach activities
- Maintaining and expanding internal and external communication channels (website, social media, newsletters, public relations)
- Developing informational materials for various target groups (researchers, patients, the general public)
- Organizing events, workshops, and community engagement activities
- Supporting the EC-EDI’s strategic communication, including visibility within the scientific community and the general public
- Assisting with general project management, including facilitating committee meetings
- Representing the General Manager at the Central Office, including coordinating administrative processes and assisting with management tasks
What we are looking for
- Master’s degree in life sciences or a related field
- Experience in science communication, public relations, or community outreach, ideally in a research setting
- Experience in digital content creation, social media management, and CMS (e.g., TYPO3)
- Strong organizational skills and experience in project management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
- Independent, proactive work style and ability to set priorities
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration and working with a diverse range of stakeholders

Information regarding the position
- Paygrade E13 according to TVöD VKA-K. Your job grade depends on your job qualification whereas the experience level depends on the number of working years. The yearly gross salary is hereby provided based on a full time position excluding yearly bonus and additional pay. You may find further information here
- Working hours can be part-time from 19 to 32,7 hours per week. Please indicate how many hours you would like to work per week
- The position is limited until 31.12.2028, as it is tied to the project duration
- 30 days of paid vacation per year
