Arbeiten an der Charité

PhD position in the research group of Dr. Sarah Ayash. The main task is to investigate neural circuit mechanisms underlying resilience to social stress, using advanced techniques (such as optogenetics) to gain translational insights into mental health.   • Develop and implement research protocols to investigate neural circuit mechanisms of stress resilience and social behaviors
  • Perform advanced techniques including optogenetics, chemo-genetics, fiber photometry, and patch clamp eletcrophysiology
  • Conduct animal behavior assays to assess stress response and social behavior
  • Record and analyse electrophysiological, molecular, and behavioral data using specialized software and statistical tools
  • Interpret findings at cellular, synaptic, and circuit level
  • Conduct western blot and immunohistochemistry to investigate receptor- and protein-level changes
  • Utilize cutting-edge microscopy techniques to visualize neural structures and activity
  • Scientific employees are given sufficient time for their own scientific work based on their employment status

Danach suchen wir

Essential:

  • Masters degree either in neuroscience or physiology or pharmacology
    Hands-on expertise in neural circuit techniques such as optogenetics, chemo-genetics, and fiber photometry
  • Experience with eletrophysiological techniques, including patch-clamp and in-vivo recordings
  • Proficiency in conducting animal behavioral assays, specially related to stress and social behavior
  • Skilled in molecular biology techniques such as immunohistochemistry and western blot

Desirable:

  • Familiarity studying signaling pathways
  • Strong analytical ability using Prism, ImageJ, and electrophysiological data software
  • Scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals

Informationen zur Stelle

  • Salary group E13 according to TVöD- VKA- K. The classification is based on qualification, the respective experience level is calculated from the years of professional experience. The annual salary (gross) is given for a full-time position without annual bonus, allowances and additional services.
  • The working time is part-time with 25 hours per week
  • At our company 30 days of vacation are standard
  • The position is limited to 4 years, as it is tied to the project duration
