Working at the Charité

Carry out your interdisciplinary doctorate in the field of computational oncology in the Research Training Group “CompCancer” (RTG2424)! This Research Training Group is jointly funded by colleagues from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, the Max Delbrück Center and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics. To recruit the 4th cohort of doctoral students for this Research Training Group, 4 doctoral positions are to be filled. You can find more detailed information on the Research Training Group here

Job Overview

Doctorates are possible in the following areas: 

  • Development and application of computer-based methods in oncology and cancer research
  • Bioinformatics
  • Mathematical modeling
  • Analysis of large genomic data sets
  • A more detailed description of the topics and interests of the research groups involved can be found here
  • Scientific staff is given sufficient time to carry out their own scientific work in accordance with their employment relationship (in accordance with § 110 BerlHG)

Required:

  • Master's degree in computer science, mathematics or similar, and a strong interest in developing and applying computer-based methods for biomedical applications
    or Master's degree in life sciences, and good prior knowledge in mathematics or computer science
  • Ideally, carried out work in the interdisciplinary field of biomedical research and computer science/ mathematics and you would like to do a doctorate in a research training group on this topic

Job Information

  • Salary group E13 according to TVöD- VKA- K. The classification is based on qualification, the respective experience level is calculated from the years of professional experience. The annual salary (gross) is given for a full-time position without annual bonus, allowances and additional services. You can find the collective agreement here
  • The working time is part-time with 28 hours per week
  • At our company 30 days of vacation are standard
  • The position is limited to 3 years, as it is tied to the project duration
