Working at the Charité
The interdisciplinary Image Guidance Lab of the Department of Neurosurgery at Charité is looking for an open-minded, motivated researcher with a degree in neuroscience or psychology and a strong background in clinical-translational research for working in the areas of neuromodulation and the project EBRAINS 2.0. The research group headed by Prof. Thomas Picht conducts research on the use of state-of-the-art imaging methods (MRI, DWI, resting-state fMRI) and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques (navigated TMS) to improve the perioperative care and treatment of patients with brain tumours. It is also involved in various national and international interdisciplinary collaborations and projects and is currently part of the “Matters of Activity” Cluster of Excellence.
Job Overview

You are responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of neuromodulation studies, including the performance of examinations with patients (e.g. transcranial magnetic stimulation, clinical testing of motor function and similar)

You carry out the project and data management of afforementioned studies independently

You are responsible for the coordination and supervision of the research groups input to the multicenter project EBRAINS 2.0 for the acquisition, collection, and processing of imaging, cognitive, and clinical data

After initial training, you perform MRIs on healthy subjects independently

You teach medical and neuroscience students as part of compulsory elective teaching modules

You supervise Bachelor's, Master's and medical students

You organize and conduct patient participation workshops in research contexts

You develop new research ideas and writes grant applications for funding
Required:
Essential:
- Master's degree or equivalent in neuroscience, psychology or related discipline with a strong focus on clinical, translational research
- Experience in conducting scientific studies
- Solid knowledge of statistics and experimental methods
- Fluent written and spoken German and English
Useful:
- Experience with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)
- Experience in the collection and processing of MRI data sets (especially diffusion MRI and resting-state fMRI)
- Experience in the collection of neuropsychological tests
- Experience in dealing with EEG and/or TMS-EEG
- Experience in communicating scientific results to laypersons
- Experience in dealing with patients- Experience in conducting clinical studies (GCP course)
- Completed doctorate on a related research topic (Position also available for PhD Candidates)

Job Information
- Salary group E13 according to TVöD- VKA- K. The classification is based on qualification, the respective experience level is calculated from the years of professional experience. The annual salary (gross) is given for a full-time position without annual bonus, allowances and additional services. You can find the collective agreement here
